Clinical Supervision
My supervision practice has a person-centred foundation, with a creative element and a strong focus on empowering you in your practice.
As your supervisor, I will:
- Aim to build a solid, professional, collaborative relationship with you
- Provide a safe space where difficult clinical and ethical issues can be discussed and processed
- Provide an environment where reflection can take place both on your client work and your own personal experience of being a counsellor
- Off you my objective thoughts and reflections when it may benefit you and/or your clients
- Provide support and advice when personal issues have surfaced during your work with clients
- Support and encourage you in your ongoing professional deveopment
- Help you focus on the challenges you may face as well as celebrate any successes you have
In addition to talking any issues through, I may suggest we work creatively by using action work, creative tools/media or creative thinking. You are free to choose not to work in this way, however I would encourage you to be open to these avenues of exploration. These methods may, at times, be very enlightening, allowing you to feel confident in exploring your practice in a new way, and hopefully allowing you to see your clients from a different perspective, thus provoking therapeutic change in your clients.
